On 3rd August 2023, under ICAR-CRIDA-Farmers First project, organised demonstrations of Nano urea sprays on pigeonpea crop in adopted villages namely Bhakapur, Medikonda, Gangupally and Devanoniguda villages.

In Bhakapur village, six farmers’ fields were selected for demonstration of foliar application of nano urea of dosage @ 4 ml/litre was carried out on 30 days old pigeonpea crop.

Farmers expressed that nano urea sprays have had been carried out in vegetables by them in previous years which had shown good results. Similar kind of demonstrations were held in another six more farmer fields each in villages: Devanoniguda and Medikonda.

IPM of chillies was demonstrated in farmer fields with Mr Suresh, a farmer growing chilli crop in Devanoniguda. As part of IPM practice 400 seedlings of marigold crop was purchased in adjoining nursery and were transplanted in boundaries of main chilli crop as border crop. The whole program was coordinated by Dr G Nirmala, PI of project.
