Distribution of Redgram (PRG-176) Seeds in Ranga Reddy District to farmers under SCSP programme.

ICAR-CRIDA- KVK Staff Shri. P. Ramakrishna, Technical Officer distributed Redgram (PRG-176) certified seeds to SC farmers in Chittapur and surrounding villages of Manchal mandal in the Rangareddy District, Telangana on 10th August, 2023.

Delay and deficit rainfall in the monsoon hampered the agriculture operations in the district, as a result sowings commenced lately. While sowings for the current Kharif season 2023 in Rangareddy district of Telangana is being slow, Redgram Seeds were given under SCSP programme free of cost to the SC farmers to promote pulses cultivation.

Shri. P. Ramakrishna explained about the package of practices to the farmers and appealed them to follow the contemporary advices given by the agricultural scientists on time to time so as to protect the lately sown Redgram crop. Chittapur village sarpanch Shri. B. Nagaraju, WOTR(NGO) representatives Shri. Chennaiah and M. Krishna, farmers participated in this distribution programme. The seeds were distributed to total 330 farmer beneficiaries from Chittapur, Asmathpur, Bandalemoor, Chandkhanguda, Dadpalle, Rangapur, Cheeded, Tallapalliguda, Thippaiguda, villages of Manchal mandal in the Rangareddy District, Telangana.
