HRM Training Programme on “Advances in Land and Water Resources Management for Climate Resilient Rainfed Agriculture”


ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (ICAR-CRIDA) organized an ICAR sponsored 10 Days HRM Training Programme on “Advances in Land and Water Resources Management for Climate Resilient Rainfed Agriculture” from 01st - 10th February, 2025 at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad.

The training programme was inaugurated on 01st February, 2025 by Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA. Dr. Singh highlighted the importance of land and water management in climate resilient agriculture. The training covered various aspects including mesoscale watershed management, remote sensing and its applications in agriculture, advances in water management for climate smart agriculture, catchment command area relations along with data interpretation, Q-GIS and hands on using Q-GIS, rainwater harvesting and IDF curve generation, hyperspectral Imaging in Agriculture, soil moisture determination using sentinel data and GEE, IoT in Agriculture,

Groundwater modelling, application of drones, ET estimation using ANN, measuring/estimating runoff and soil loss etc. The training programme also included field visit to Hayathnagar Research Farm (HRF) where the participants were exposed to NICRA Research Complex, Farm Machinery Workshop, CRIDA KVK, Solar-based Farm Pond Technology and experimental plots. Valedictory session of training programme was held on 10th February, 2025.

Dr. R. Rejani, Principal Scientist (SWCE) & Programme Director presented a brief report of the training programme. Dr. J.V.N.S. Prasad, Chief Guest for the valedictory session stressed the importance of the training and urged the participants to apply these learnings in their workplace. During the session, the Chief Guest has distributed the certificates to the participants. Thirteen officials from State Agricultural Universities, AICRPDA centres and ICAR institutes attended the training programme. Training was coordinated by a team of CRIDA scientists consisting Dr. R. Rejani (Programme Director), Dr. K. V. Rao and Dr. C.N. Anshida Beevi (Programme Coordinators).
