Mision

Ensuring enhanced growth and sustainability of rainfed agriculture through the application of basic, applied and strategic research outputs combined with institutional and policy innovations.

Mandate

The primary mandate assigned to CRIDA and its network project AICRPDA is to improve and stabilize the crop production capability of dryland farmers spread over the vast rainfed areas in the country. Present mandate is described below:

• • To undertake basic and applied research for sustainable and climate resilient agriculture in rainfed areas,
• • To Co-ordinate network research for generating location-specific technologies in rainfed areas,
• • To serve as a centre for capacity enhancement in natural resource management in drylands.
