KVK, ICAR-CRIDA in collaboration with Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) organized a Raithu Sadasu on Agricultural drones and Nano fertilizers on the 17th January 2025 at Manchal Village of Manchal Mandal of Rangareddy District.
Dr. Chandrakant MH, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK inaugurated the program and enlightened the farmers on the need for Nano urea, which is cost-effective and requires less quantity. The most important advantage of using nano urea in agriculture is its minimal impact on the environment. Nano fertilizers reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and improve the air and water quality.
Dr. S Vijaya Kumar SMS (Agricultural Engineering) educated the farmers about drone spray technology in various crops by using nano fertilizers. He narrated its advantages like, saving in farmers’ time, cost of fertilizers, and quantity of fertilizers, which in turn provide impactful results on productivity as observed by ICAR-CRIDA. Drone trials are being conducted in various crops in the KVK-adopted villages.
Dr. Tarunendu Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, IFFCO New Delhi, briefed the farmers about the results of various field experiments of ongoing projects on Nano Urea in various crops across the country. Shri Krupa Shankar, TS-Marketing Manager made an exhaustive presentation on innovative products of IFFCO including Nano Urea.
Smt. Sujatha, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Manchal encouraged and advised the farmers to use the Drone technology at least in a one-acre area to understand the farmer practice and drone technology in spraying application.
Dr. Goutham Veer Chouhan, SMS (Agronomy) briefed the farmers about the results of various field experiments of ongoing projects on Nano Urea in various crops across the KVK-adopted villages.
Dr. S Dilip, SMS (Extension) stressed the need for awareness training on drone technology and the use of Nano fertilizers for all crops.
Other resource persons who participated in the program include the KVK Project Staff Bharati, Vandhana, Dhanush, Harikrishan and Satish, AEO Mr Lingaswamy and progressive farmers Mr. Sudhakar. A gathering of 220 farmers including farm women participated in the programme.
