Report on field inspection and monitoring of Redgram crops at Aregudem village, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri AND at Regadi Chilakamarri village in Rangareddy District


Shri P. Ramakrishna, Technical Officer, CRIDA-KVK, together with the Seed Certifying Officer from the Telangana State Seed & Organic Certification Authority (TSSOCA), Government of Telangana, monitored the Redgram (TDRG-59) crop at Aregudem village,

Mothkur mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district as well as Redgram (WRGe-97) of Regadi Chilakamarri village, Kondurg Mandal in Rangareddy District.

To check the compliance of the existing pigeonpea crop with the specified field standards, the fields of farmers Shri K. Mahnder Reddy, Shri. B. Govardhan Reddy of Aregudem village in YB District AND Shri T. Vittal Reddy of Regadi Chilakamarri village in Rangareddy District, were examined on December 16th and 17th, 2024, respectively.

Shri P. Ramakrishna explained the concept of managing the pod borer complex in Redgram until harvest to them, and emphasized the varietal traits of TDRG-59 along with its market demand. Following the collection of the geographical coordinates of the field, Shri. M. Shivakumar, the Seed Certification Officer of TSSOCA, inquired about the farming practices adopted by the farmers. He suggested the essential precautionary steps to implement during the harvest to ensure the genetic purity of the crop is preserved.
