Three days online collaborative training program on ‘Social media management for technology dissemination in rainfed agriculture’


ICAR-CRIDA and MANAGE jointly organised three days online collaborative training program on ‘Social media management for technology dissemination in rainfed agriculture’ from 18-20 November 2024. The program was inaugurated by Dr V K Singh, Director, CRIDA. Sessions on various topics relevant to social media usage in agriculture were covered from theoretical to hands-on training point of view.

Theoretical topics covered were: social media strategies for Extension, role of Social media for rainfed agriculture development, Smart Digital tools for Extension, Effective use of Social media in Agriculture - Tips and tricks for effective sharing, Social media strategies of ICAR-CRIDA, Social media for enhancing efficacy of FPOs, Mitra farmer channel and its experiences, Social Capital creation with Social Media, Social media management in ICAR and Social media for Extension services.

The Hands-on training skills that have been imparted to trainees included topics on Writing skills for Social Media for Agriculture, Video production skills for Social Media, Ways to Tackle Mis- Information on Social media and Creation of YouTube channel and Video posting. Around 75 participants comprising of students, scientists from ICAR, SAU, CAU had joined online on all the three days of the program. The program had been coordinated by Dr G Nirmala, Principal Scientist (Agrl Extension) Dr Anshida Beevi, Scientist (Agrl Extension), Dr Jagriti Rohit, Scientist (Agrl Extension) and Dr Nagarjuna Kumar, Principal Scientist (Agrl Extension), Dr Ravi Shankar, SIC, TOT from CRIDA; Dr Srinivasacharyulu, Deputy Director (KM) and Mr Nirtesh Kumar, Academic associate from MANAGE.
