Theme: Swachhata Samvad: Swachhta Awareness Drive at SC Sub Plan adopted village Chindanur of Chincholi Taluka of Kalaburagi District, Karnataka State
ICAR-CRIDA organized Swachhata Samvad for creating awareness on cleanliness and sanitization in SC Sub Plan adopted village, Chindanur, Chincholi Taluka, Kalaburagi District, Karnataka State on 19th September, 2024. Initially Nodal Officer, SCSP briefed about the Swachhtha program and highlighted the importance of cleanliness followed by the swachhtha pledge to the villagers. During the programme, ICAR-CRIDA scientists educated the farmers about the importance of keeping their surrounding neat and clean and asked them to devote some time daily for maintaining cleanliness. Participating scientists ensured community involvement during the interaction with the farmers and stressed the importance on cleaning of sewerage & water lines in the village. Masks, sanitizer and gloves were distributed to the villagers to implement cleanliness drive in their premises and village.
Swachchta Rally around the village was organized to create awareness amongst the villagers. Later a cleanliness drive was organized along with the villagers by participatory shramdan for cleaning the entire village including sewage and water lines. Around 100 people participated in the event. Scientists from ICAR-CRIDA participated in the drive along with farmers from the village. The villagers felt happy and satisfied with the Swachhtha campaign and promised to maintain the village neat and clean in future.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra: As a part of Swachhta Hi Seva campaign on 19th September 2024, KVK-CRIDA, RR District organized “Swachhata hi Seva" awareness programme and rally along with farmers at Chandkhanguda village, Manchal mandal and KVK campus in Ranga Reddy District. Villagers were appraised about the “Agriculture, cleanliness and health in rural areas”. Different compost methods were demonstrated to the villagers and urged not to make use of non-degradable substances that cause degradation of the natural resources. Later collection of Single-Use Plastics (SUP) was done.
