Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority, Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi had sponsored project to KVK – Ranga Reddy Dt., CRIDA for organizing training cum awareness program for creation of awareness among the farmers and other stakeholders about the provisions of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Right Act , 2001. The training is being given to 100 farmers who are maintaining or cultivating own varieties of different crops. First batch of 100 farmers were trained from different mandals of Ranga Reddy and Mahaboobnagar District during the year 2013-14. The second batch of training was organized at Vikarabad Division of RR Dist covering 8 mandals viz., Vikarabad, Parigi, Gandveed, Nawabpet, Bantaram, Doma, Kulkacherla and Moinabad. An amount of Rs 80,000 was sanctioned each year for this training.
