Field survey for Implementation of “Model Pulse Village” at Ekmai and Gingurthy villages in Vikarabad District


ICAR-CRIDA KVK Team consisting of Shri. P. Ramakrishna, Technical Officer, Drs. Gautam Veer Chauhan, and Dilip S visited ekmai village of Basheerabad mandal in Vikarabad district to conduct preliminary Survey of the area, with respect to Implementation of “Model Pulses Village” project sanctioned by Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare; Government of India, New Delhi.

Mandal Agriculture Officer Shri. M. Suryaprakash of Navandgi (Basheerabad) cluster and AEO Mr. Navin facilitated the interaction with the Ekmai village farmers.

Shri. P. Ramakrishna briefly explained to the farmers about the objectives of “Model Pulses Village” project to be implemented in the cluster villages of Gingurthy (v), Tandur (M) and Ekmai (V), Basheerabad (M) in Vikarabad District, which have the potential for yield improvement and area expansion so that total pulses area may be 150 ha in a year, in each village

Ex- sarpanch P Srinivas Reddy, Redgram growing prospective farmers Sai Reddy, Srinivasgoud, Mallesham, Venkatamm, Yenke Venkatappa, Bhimamma, Parvatamma, Sanappa, Rukmini bai and others participated within short span of notice. It was informed to conduct awareness cum training programme in the village shortly.

Later visited the Redgram (ICPL 85063) field of farmer Shri. Narayana which was sown 3 weeks ago. Afterwards the team left to Gingurthy village of Tandur mandal and interacted with AEO Ms. Shirisha and few farmers.
