Two days review meeting of externally aided projects is organized during 13-14 August 2024 by ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. The Chairman of the meeting is Dr S.K. Chaudhari, DDG (NRM), ICAR, New Delhi. On 13-8-2024 the event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries as a symbol of bestowing knowledge eternally.
Dr V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA welcomed the guests and explained the purpose of the meeting and briefed the aims of the two days review meeting. Dr S.K. Chaudhari, DDG (NRM), ICAR, New Delhi informed that review meeting of externally aided projects is held yearly 2 times. He emphasized that participants should focus on learnings from the projects. He stressed for bringing out state specific publications, so that the technologies can be transferred to policy makers at state level for scaling up.
There are about 29 projects funded by various international agencies on aspects related to climate smart agriculture, real time drought monitoring and management, enhancing water productivity, speed breeding of crops, development of flood insurance products, etc. About 30 participants from various parts of the country attended the meeting and presented the progress of the projects. On the second day 14-8-2024, participants visited the facilities of ICAR – CRIDA, Santoshnagar, state of the art climate research facilities, KVK and field experiments at Hayatnagar research farm on themes such as technology park, rainfed horticulture systems, conservation agriculture systems, agroforestry systems including bamboo, farm machinery, seed hub, solar powered micro irrigation systems, biofertilizer production, drone demonstration etc.
