Visit of Dr Sanjay Kumar, Chairman, ASRB, to Research Farm of ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad


In the forenoon of 15.10.2024, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Chairman, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, visited the research facilities like Speed Breeding facility, Open Top Chambers, and Central laboratory at CRIDA main campus. Later he visited at Research Farm of ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad. Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA welcomed the chief guest and explained about the research facilities and experiments located at the farm.

He visited the research experiments and facilities at Hayathnagar Research Farm. He visited the technology park, horticulture block, conservation agriculture experimental site. Live demonstration of farm implements like orchard sprayer, Broad Bed Furrow, drones, CRIDA weeders etc was appreciated by the chairman. Later he visited the Climate Change Research Complex consisting of Free-Air Temperature Elevation (FATE) and CO2 Temperature Gradient Chambers (CTGC) facilities. He offered valuable inputs for widening the scope and functionality of facilities which would enable the improvement of overall research programme in climate resilient agriculture.

In the afternoon, an interaction session was held with the scientists of ICAR-CRIDA. Dr. VK. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA presented the major achievements of the institute to attain the sustainable climate resilient agricultural production systems in rainfed regions which was complimented by the Chairman. He appreciated the efforts of the institute in developing technologies that have benefitted the rainfed farmers. Later, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Chairman answered the queries and doubts raised by the participants to enhance the transparency in the selection procedure of ASRB.
