Teachers’ Day Celebrated with Zeal at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad


ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA), Hyderabad, celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm on 6th September 2025, paying rich tributes to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India and an eminent teacher-philosopher.

The programme was graced by Dr. P. L. Goutham, Hon’ble Chancellor, Rajendra Prasad Central Agriculture University, Pusa as the Chief Guest, Dr.D.Raji Reddy Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Konda Laxman Horticulture University, Hyderabad as Guest of Honor. Other dignitaries Dr.S.B.Barbuddhe, Director, National Meat Research Institute(NRMI),Hyderabad, Dr.Gopal Lal(Acting), Director, National Academy of Research Management(NAARM) also graced the function.

The event began lighting of the lamp and a floral homage to Dr. Radhakrishnan by the dignitaries.

Dr. G. Ravindra Chary, Academic Coordinator (PG),IARI Hyderabad Hub, welcomed all the dignitaries and students, highlighted the invaluable contributions of teachers in shaping young minds and nurturing future generations.

Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA presented an overall performance and activities of IARI-CRIDA Hyderabad hub during last year. He has explained about role and importance of guru in our life. He also appreciated the efforts of faculty and students in making the event memorable and reaffirmed ICAR-CRIDA’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and extension.

Dr.S.B.Barbuddhe, Director, NRMI argued the students to apply the knowledge for welfare of farmers and for our country, He also congratulated all the students for their performance .

Dr.Gopal Lal(Acting), Director, NAARM expressed the importance of Teacher and role of teacher in developing society and nation. He argued the students to maintain relation with teachers and work towards development of nation.

Dr.D.Raji Reddy narrated about the importance of teacher’s day. He appreciated the work of faculty at IARI Hyderabad Hub. He advised the students to work towards benefits of farming community and dissemination of information to the farmers. He argued the students to have positive thinking and do the hard work to get better results in the life.

Dr. P. L. Goutham given wider picture of work of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India in establishing the rural agricultural universities in India. He argued the students to give respect to teachers and gain the knowledge from them. Also, he emphasized the students to make learning as habit to enrich the knowledge to build the nation. He also argued the teachers to use new teaching mythologies while teaching to the students. The Chief Guest in his address inspired the gathering by emphasizing that teachers are not just knowledge providers but also role models who instil values, discipline, and vision in students

To mark the occasion, various competitions were conducted for students. The participation of students was enthusiastic, reflecting their respect and admiration for the teaching community.

As a token of appreciation, awards and prizes were presented to the winners of the competitions, along with recognition of faculty members for their dedicated services.

During this programme publications are also released.

The celebration created a spirit of gratitude, joy, and respect among students and staff alike.

The programme was attended by all the faculty members of IARI Hyderabad Hub, CRIDA, CRIDA staff and UG,PG,PhD,RAWEP students

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. K. Nagasree, Academic Coordinator (UG), IARI Hyderabad Hub, CRIDA.
