India Meteorological Department (IMD) celebrated the 150th year of its establishment on 15 Jan 2025 in the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. More than 1000 delegates representing Ministries of Environmental Sciences, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Home, Defence, Water Resources, etc. participated in the program. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the program and addressed the gathering. Hon'ble Minister of State for Science and Technology, Sh. Jitendra Singh, and Secretary General of World Meteorological Organization, Prof. Celeste Saulo graced the inaugural session.

On this occasion, an exhibition was arranged, in which ICAR exhibited its achievements, especially on Agromet Advisory, Dynamic Crop Weather Calendar, Climate Resilient Agriculture, and Precision Agriculture. ICAR scientists also joined as panelists in the panel discussion on “Weather and Climate Services for Agriculture”.
