Awareness Campaign organized by ICAR-CRIDA,KVK on Balanced Use of Fertilizers to DAESI Trainees


An awareness programme on the balanced use of fertilizers was delivered to Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Inputs Dealers (DAESI) Trainees from Nagarkurnool during their visit to KVK Ranga Reddy, ICAR-CRIDA on 21 April 2026.

Dr. Chandrakant M H. Head, KVK Ranga Reddy emphasized the importance of soil test-based and judicious fertilizer application for improving soil health and crop productivity.

Dr. D. Sudheer (SMS Veterinary), Dr. Gautam Veer Chauhan (SMS Agronomy), Dr. P Himabindu (SMS Plant Protection), and Dr. Dilip S (SMS Extension) briefly explained their respective subject areas.

Shri. P. Ramakrishna, Technical Officer also briefed the trainees on the Seed Hub project. The KVK staff highlighted the importance of balanced nutrient application and integrated nutrient management in improving crop yields, noting that proper fertilization not only enhances productivity but also helps reduce the incidence of pests and diseases by maintaining healthy crops.

They emphasized the strong connection between soil health, fodder quality, and livestock well-being, pointing out that better soil management leads to improved overall farm outcomes. Additionally, they stressed the crucial role of extension personnel in raising farmer awareness and promoting soil test–based recommendations to ensure sustainable and efficient agricultural practices. Total 31 participants and their coordinator participated in above programme.
