ICAR-CRIDA, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ranga Reddy District organized an “Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilizers” at Chittapur Village, Manchal Mandal, Ranga Reddy district on 18.05.2026. A total of 38 farmers participated in the programme.
The programme focused on creating awareness regarding soil test-based fertilizer application, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), soil fertility management, and sustainable nutrient use practices. The scientists explained the importance of balanced application of NPK fertilizers, secondary and micronutrients, use of FYM, biofertilizers, green manuring, gypsum application in groundnut, and crop residue incorporation for improving soil health and crop productivity.
Information related to the Soil Health Card (SHC) Scheme, identification of nutrient deficiencies in crops, and the harmful effects of excessive chemical fertilizer usage and field burning was also discussed with the farmers.
A practical demonstration on scientific soil sample collection procedures was conducted during the programme. Leaflets and pamphlets on Balanced Use of Fertilizers (BUF) were distributed to all participating farmers
