ICAR-CRIDA organized Kisan Gosthi on the Balanced Use of Fertilizers in Sangareddy district, Telangana


ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad organized Kisan Gosthi on the “Balanced Use of Fertilizers” under Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav program in collaboration with Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University(PJTSAU), Hyderabad in Sangareddy district, Telangana on 29-4-2026.

A team of Scientists: Dr. G. Pratibha, Principal Scientist (Agronomy), Dr. K. Ravi Shankar, Principal Scientist (Extension) and Dr. V. Girijaveni, senior scientist (Soil Science) has highlighted about best management practices, crop diversification, crop rotation, green manuring, water harvesting and balance use of fertilizer covering importance of soil testing, alternatives to chemical fertilizers, soil health card, crop residues recycling, organic use in Haridaspur village, Kondapur Mandal, Sangareddy district, Telangana.

Totally 42 farmers have attended the programme with only one women farmer.

The chief guest for the program was Smt.T. Nirmala Jagga Reddy Garu (Chair person, TGIIC), Y. Prabhu Garu (Chairman, ATMA), K. Siva Prasad Garu (JDA, Sangareddy), Dr. D. Vaidyanath (ADA, SRD), P. Ganesh (MAO, Kandapur), Ch. Ravi (AEO), we also emphasized on minimizing the fertilizer application and the aspects of Integrated Nutrient Management to sustain yields, improve soil health and overall soil quality.


After the program, the team met district collector of sangar eddy and appraised about this program that will be taken on different themes to mitigate the excessive use of fertilizers in different villages of Sanga Reddy district. The collector was also happy and showed interest and support to carry this program successfully with the help and support of their officials.
