ICAR-CRIDA-KVK team, including Dr. Chandrakant M. H, Dr. Gautam Veer Chauhan, and Shri P. Ramakrishna, visited Chittapur Village and Kesi Thanda on 30th May, 2025.

Under the CFLD-pulses programme, high-quality Redgram seeds (WRGe-97) have been distributed to farmers, empowering them with the resources needed to boost productivity. This initiative focused on providing access to improved seed varieties that are more resistant to diseases, thereby reducing crop losses.

“This seed distribution programme is a vital component of our mission to support the agricultural community,” said Dr. Chandrakant M. H, Head-KVK & Nodal officer of CFLD project. “By equipping farmers with superior seeds, we are laying the foundation for stronger crops and a more prosperous farming sector. Our goal is to facilitate sustainable growth and ensure that farmers can meet the demand for Redgram, both locally and beyond.”

Shri P. Ramakrishna informed that under the project training sessions and technical support are included to help farmers adopt best practices in cultivation and crop management. He advised farmers to follow agricultural scientists' timely advice for safeguarding their Redgram crop, as this programme continues to collaborate with local authorities, line department agriculture officers and farmers’ groups to drive innovation and share knowledge.

Dr. Gautam Veer Chauhan discussed practices for farmers and assured regular monitoring of Redgram fields by KVK and agricultural officials.

Later the team distributed foundation seeds of Redgram (WRGe-97) to farmers in the Chittapur and Kesithanda panchayath villages of Rangareddy District. Representatives from WOTR (NGO), including Shri M. Krishna and G. Chennaiah, were present, along with approximately 62 farmers from both mandals who participated in this distribution program.
