Capacity Building of tribal farmers under TSP


ICAR-CRIDA conducted five days training programme for Tribal farmers from Adilabad District under TSP on “Institutional Mechanism for improved livelihood opportunities for farmers” from February 17-21, 2025.

The training programme was inaugurated on February 17, 2025 by Dr. S.K Bal, PC AICRPAM ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. Dr. Bal in his address emphasised on the importance of group based approach like farmer producer company for enhancing the income of farmers. Various topics like Group based approaches in rural livelihood, Role of FPO’s in farmer’s prosperity, Millet based enterprises for enhanced income etc were included in the training programme. The training programme was attended by 30 farmers.

As a part of training programme various exposure visits were conducted in ICAR-IIMR, ICAR-NMRI and ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseed Research, Hyderabad for the farmers,

The valedictory session was held on February 21, 2025 wherein Dr. K V Rao, Head DRM ICAR-CRIDA was the chief guest of the session. He addressed the trainees and received feedback from them. He explained the role commodity based group and FPO in brining farmers together and increasing their bargaining power, Trainees were given certificate of participation during the session.

Extn.), Dr. K.B Sridhar Senior scientist (Agroforesty), Dr. Priya G Scientist (Soil Scientist) Dr. B Bhargavi Scientist (Agronomy) and Mr. Bharath L Alam Scientist (Genetics and Plant Breeding).
