Ten Days HRM Training Programme on “Gender Sensitization for Sustainable and Climate Smart Agriculture”


ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (ICAR-CRIDA) organized an ICAR sponsored 10 Days HRM Training Programme on “Gender Sensitization for Sustainable and Climate Smart Agriculture” from 20th February - 01st March, 2025 at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. for technical staff

The training programme was inaugurated on 20th February, 2025 by Dr. S. K. Bal, Project Coordinator, All India Coordinated Project on Agrometeorology (AICRPAM). Dr. Bal highlighted the importance of gender sensitization in agriculture.

The training covered various aspects including gender sensitization, gender discrimination, hands-on sessions, gender dimensions in agriculture, complementary and supplementary gender roles in IFS, climate resilient technologies for sustainable agriculture, gender roles in IPM, gender transformative approach for sustainable agri-food system and empowerment, drudgery reduction through improved farm mechanization, gender in climate adaptation, digital technologies for gender mainstreaming etc.

Field visit was organized to Hayathnagar Research Farm (HRF) where the participants were exposed to NICRA Research Complex, Farm Machinery Workshop and CRIDA KVK activities. As part of the training, exposure visits were made to AICRP on Women in Agriculture at PJTAU, Millet Processing and Incubation Unit (MPIC) at PJTAU, Rural Technology Park (RTP) of National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) and National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).

Valedictory session of training programme was held on 01st March, 2025. Dr. C.N. Anshida Beevi, Scientist (Agril. Extension) & Programme Director presented a brief report of the training programme.

Dr. S.K. Bal, PC, AICRPAM, Chief Guest for the valedictory session stressed the importance of the training and also distributed the certificates to the participants. Ten technical staff from KVK and ICAR institutes attended the training programme. Training was coordinated by a team of CRIDA scientists consisting Dr. C.N. Anshida Beevi (Programme Director), Dr. K. Ravi Shankar and Dr. K. Nagasree (Programme Coordinators).
