ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad organised awareness campaign on soil health management and balanced use of fertilizer under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Programme in Maru cluster in Ammanabolu village. Motakundur Mandal of Yadagiri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana state on 18-5-2026. It is organized in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Telangana
The programme was organized under the Intensive Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilizers initiated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.
The following scientists from ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad has attended the campaign:

They briefed about the key principles for soil health management such as balanced fertilization, integrated nutrient management (INM), soil test-based fertilizer application, organic amendment, bio-fertilizer application etc.
They cautioned farmers against the excessive use of urea, noting its adverse effects on soil health, crop productivity, and input costs.
Use of eco-friendly fertilizers like organic manure, green manure, bio-fertilizers, vermicompost, compost, liquid fertilizers etc. were also emphasized
Demonstration of seed treatment with biofertilizers were also given to the farmers. Total 100 farmers attended the programme.
