ICAR-CRIDA organized awareness programme on Soil Health Management and Balanced Fertilizer Use under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav programme at Peddarevalli village, Balanagar mandal of Mahbubnagar district on 21st May, 2026. Team leader Dr. Sumanta Kundu, Senior Scientist (Agronomy) and member Shri. N. Manikandan, Scientist (Agricultural Meteorology) from ICAR-CRIDA along with Mr. Praveen, AEO, Mr. Sasidhar Goud, Sarpanch, Mr. Mallesh, Panchayat Secretary and 25 farmers were present.

Dr. Sumanta Kundu and Mr. Manikandan, described the major principles for soil health management such as balanced fertilization, integrated nutrient management, soil test-based fertilizer application, organic amendments, biofertilizer application, crop rotation, green manuring with dhaincha & sunhemp, use of compost, vermicompost, etc. A demonstration on seed treatment of green gram using Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) was also conducted and farmers were informed about the benefits of seed treatment.

The team members and AEO addressed the queries raised by the farmers. At the end of the programme, the team members expressed their gratitude to the farmers, Sarpanch, Panchayat Secretary and AEO for their support and cooperation in successfully conducting the awareness program.
