TRAINING PROGRAMME ON “NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR ENHANCING INCOME AND LIVELIHOOD SECURITY” ORGANISED UNDER SC SUB PLAN


A five-day training programme was organised for the farmers on “Natural Resource Management technologies for Enhancing Income and Livelihood Security” during 18-22 August, 2025 at ICAR-CRIDA, Santoshnagar, Hyderabad under SC Sub Plan.

The training programme was inaugurated on 18th August, 2025 by Chief Guest Dr. VK Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. In his inaugural speech, Dr. VK Singh highlighted the importance of different rainfed technologies. He also emphasized the need for skill development for enhancing the productivity. The training covered various aspects including mechanization, drudgery-reducing farm implements, repair and maintenance of equipment, soil management, crop management, value addition in crops, rainwater management, crop diversification for enhancing income, role of livestock for improving livelihood security, management of horticulture crops, and awareness of soil health card. The training program was coordinated by Dr Suvana S along with Dr G Venkatesh, Dr H B Santhosh, Dr Visha V Kumari, Dr Anshida Beevi C N, Dr Savitha Santhosh and Dr Jagriti Rohit. The training programme concluded on 22nd August, 2025.

Dr. Suvana S, Senior Scientist, welcomed all the participants, and Dr. T V Prasad, Nodal Officer SCSP presented a brief report of the training programme. Dr. V K Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA who was the Chief Guest for the valedictory session urged the farmers to implement the acquired knowledge in their fields and also disseminate it to the neighbouring farmers. Later, the chief guest distributed the certificates to the participants. Twenty SC farmers from the Edagatta Village, Mancherial district participated in this training programme.
