Constitution Day also known as 'Samvidhan Diwas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950.
The day honours the visionary work of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Chairman of the Drafting Committee, and other members of the Constituent Assembly who laid the foundation of India’s democratic framework.
The ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (ICAR-CRIDA), Hyderabad, observed Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) on 26 November 2025 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The event aimed to reaffirm the commitment of the Institute’s staff toward upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution.
AS part of the program different activities conducted at ICAR-CRIDA like reading of the Preamble in online mode and offline mode, walk than and online quiz on Constitutional Democracy.
The observance began with the gathering of all staff, at the main building of the institute. Shri.V.Sanu Administrative Officer administered the Constitution Day Pledge to all staff of the Institute.
A key highlight of the event was the collective reading of the Preamble of the Constitution of India. The reading of the Preamble echoed the timeless principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, which form the foundation of the nation’s democratic ethos. The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from all cadres of employees.
The staff also participated in online quiz and received participation certificates . Also staff actively participated in walk than which highlighted the importance of 'Samvidhan Diwas'
The programme highlighted the importance of the Constitution as the guiding document that safeguards citizens' rights and outlines the responsibilities essential for nation-building
The observance concluded with a reaffirmation to uphold constitutional values in personal conduct, professional responsibilities, and institutional activities, thereby strengthening the spirit of democracy and responsible citizenship .
