ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture organizing Save the Field Campaign 2026 (खेत_बचाओ_अभियान ) in response to the call from the Government of India and Indian Council of Agriculture (ICAR), to promote balanced fertilizer use, soil health conservation, and natural farming among farmers.
Under this programme ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad organized an awareness campaign on Balanced Fertilization use and Soil Health Management on 10 June 2026 at Atmakur Village, of Sadashivpet Mandal, Sangareddy District Telangana state.

Experts created awareness among farmers on sustainable and scientific agricultural practices.The programme was attended by Mr. Vadla Nikitha Bimbadhar Reddy, Sarpanch, Mr. G. Ramesh, Agricultural Officer (AO), Mrs. Sridevi and Mrs. Krishnaveni, Assistant Agricultural Officers (AEOs).
A total of 54 farmers, including 10 women farmers, actively participated in the interactive session.
The scientists and agricultural officers discussed several important aspects of sustainable crop production. Emphasis was laid on the balanced use of fertilizers to improve nutrient use efficiency and reduce input costs. Farmers were encouraged to adopt crop residue management practices for maintaining soil health and minimizing environmental pollution. The benefits of biofertilizers in enhancing soil microbial activity and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers were highlighted.
Farmers were also sensitized about the importance of soil test-based balanced fertilization for sustainable crop production. They were advised to avoid excessive use of urea, which can negatively affect soil health, crop productivity, and farm profitability
