Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ranga Reddy District of ICAR-CRIDA, participated in the state-wide Seed Mela (సీడ్ మేళా/విత్తన మేళా) organized by the Telangana Department of Agriculture at Manchal Rythu Vedika from 27 to 29 July 2026.
The event was organized to support farmers in preparing for the upcoming sowing season by facilitating access to certified, high-quality seeds at subsidized prices, while safeguarding them against counterfeit and substandard seed materials.
The KVK team, represented by Dr. Dilip S., SMS (Agricultural Extension), and Shri P. Rama Krishna, Technical Officer, sensitized farmers to El Niño conditions and their potential impact on agriculture.
They also advocated climate-resilient farming practices and advised farmers on suitable adaptation strategies to sustain agricultural productivity under changing climatic conditions. Later, certified seeds of the high-yielding, drought-tolerant horsegram varieties CRHG-19 and CRHG-22 were made available for sale to farmers. T
he event was organized and coordinated by the line department officials, Shri Venkatesham, Agriculture Officer, Manchal Mandal, and Smt. Saisiri, Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO), and witnessed active participation from farmers.
