Awareness on Soil Health Management at Guddamalaiguda Village


The ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organized an awareness programme on the occasion of World Soil Day on 5th December, 2024 at Guddamalaiguda Village, Yacharam Mandal, Rangareddy District, Telangana an adopted village under the project on “Model Village Approach for Assessment and Dissemination of Dryland Technologies”. The programme was jointly organized by BAIF, HSBC, State Agriculture Department and ICAR-CRIDA.

The programme focused on raising awareness on this year’s theme “Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage” by emphasizing the significant role of soil health management in sustainable agriculture. During the Dr. K. Ravi Shankar, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension) & SIC, TOT highlighted the important role of soil and the activities of CRIDA at the village. Shri Ravinath, Agriculture Officer explained about the soil sampling procedure and Dr. Anshida Beevi C.N., Scientist (Agril. Extension) briefed on various soil management practices such as crop rotation, cover cropping etc.

A total of 80 farmers including farm women, Dr. Vidhyadhari, Retd. staff KVK-CRIDA, Shri Ravinath, AO, Smt. Radhamma, AEO, Smt. Shweta and Shri. Sai from BAIF attended the programme. The program was coordinated by Dr. K. Ravi Shankar, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension) & SIC, TOT and Dr. Anshida Beevi C.N., Scientist (Agril. Extension) from CRIDA
