Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ranga Reddy District of ICAR–CRIDA, Hyderabad, organized a Workshop on the Special Project on Cotton at Bhuvan Research Farm, Hayathnagar, on 24th June 2026. The programme reviewed the achievements of the project implemented during 2023–24 to 2025–26.
Dr. Chandrakant M.H., Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Ranga Reddy, welcomed the Chief Guest and dignitaries and highlighted the successful implementation of the Special Project on Cotton over the past three years.
Dr. S. Vijaya Kumar, Nodal Officer, Special Project on Cotton and SMS (Agricultural Engineering), KVK Ranga Reddy, presented an overview of the Special Project on Cotton, highlighting its achievements, HDPS and Closer Spacing demonstrations, mechanization interventions, and the benefits of scientific technologies in enhancing productivity and farmers' income.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR–CRIDA, Hyderabad, congratulated the KVK team and participating farmers for the successful implementation of the Special Project on Cotton. He emphasized climate-resilient technologies, mechanization, balanced nutrient management, water conservation, and sustainable farming practices to enhance cotton productivity.
Technical presentations were delivered by Mr. L. V. Prasad (RASI Seeds Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Nelki Satyanarayana (Seed Works Pvt. Ltd.) on improved cotton hybrids, scientific crop management, nutrient management, and integrated pest management for sustainable cotton production.
Progressive farmers Mr. Jella Yadiah (Chittapur), Mr. Augusteen Reddy (Irvin), and Mr. Kondal Reddy (Amangal) shared their success stories on adopting HDPS and CS technologies. Dr. A. R. Reddy, Principal Scientist and Nodal Officer, ATARI Zone-X, Hyderabad, delivered an expert lecture on integrated crop management for HDPS and CS cotton. Awards and certificates were presented to outstanding farmers and project personnel for their exemplary performance.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. D. Sudheer, SMS (Veterinary Science).
A total of 80 participants from the Madgul, Manchal, and Amangal clusters attended the programme.
