Pulse and Cotton based Integrated Farming Systems with Energy Efficient Water Management methods(Sprinkler and Raingun)with the Critical Irrigation Management of 30mm Water application 2 times during Vegetative stage and Pod or Bowl development stages. The other diversified crops like vegetables in small area 0.4acers was given 20mm depth 5 times at 10day interval .These models were evaluated in the small holdings of tribal farmers in Telangana. Results from experiments in a tribal farmers field during 2016-18 with above IFS models (Pulse and Cotton)in the Telangana Region Highlighted the Maximum Net benefits of Rs 51,000-69,000 in the Cotton based IFS model under the OFR as compared to the Pulse based IFS model with Rs 17,000-35,000 under different investment options with and without Government support . There was an increase in the Water productivity of water 77% over the rainfed crop. The traditional system followed by the farmer before the project of mono cropping of sorghum and cotton was not sustainable with negative net returns with cotton and Rs 12,000 in the case of sorghum. The above technology showed how farmers income could be doubled with the IFS model with the technological support of an OFR for runoff storage and efficient utilization in the farmers field.
