Webcast of release of 22nd instalment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme at ICAR-CRIDA


On 13th March 2026, ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA) Hyderabad, organized a programme of live viewing of the event release of 22nd instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Scheme by Hon'ble Prime Minister from Guwahati in Assam at ICAR-CRID,Hyderabad

This webcast was attended by ICAR-CRIDA staff and farmers from CRIDA Model village, Gaddamallaiahguda and also webcast made at KVK of ICAR-CRIDA, AICRPDA and AICRPAM centres and effectively conveyed the Prime Minister's message to the participants. Total 570 members viewed the telecast across AICRPDA,AICRPAM centres and at CRIDA and at KVK of ICAR-CRIDA

The programme was conducted which is a significant step toward reinforcing the government's commitment to supporting farmers. The successful execution of the telecast not only disseminated vital information regarding the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi but also fostered a sense of community among farmers.

On this occasion before webcasting Dr.K.Ravi Shankar, Principal Scientist (Agri Extention ) briefed about the importance of PM-KISAN and other Government schemes in supporting the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers to the participants particularly to the farmers

The event, broadcasted from Guwahati, Assam . Under PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi transferred more than ₹18,640 crore to the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore farmers as the 22nd instalment through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totalling Rs 6,000 annually, directly into their bank accounts via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The release is timed ahead of the kharif sowing season, is expected to help farmers procure essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers and pesticides.

During this program Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched several new development schemes for the people of Assam from Guwahati, aimed at accelerating the state’s development and improve public services and infrastructure.

In his address he told Integration of farmer’s agricultural practices with modern technology and innovative irrigation methods benefits the policy of ‘Per drop,More Crop’and that improves irrigation efficiency and reduce operational costs. It served as a platform to reinforce the government's vision for transforming Indian agriculture through innovation, inclusion, and investment.

The programme was coordinated by Dr.K.Ravi Shankar, Principal Scientist (Agri Extention ) and Dr.PK.Pankaj,Principal Scientist & I/c PME cell, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. The programme ended with vote of thanks to all the participants.
