1. Purpose & Scope

This document outlines the standard procedure for the safe and efficient operation of the Digital Orbital Rotary Shaker. This equipment is used for uniform mixing of liquid cultures, chemical reagents, and biological samples within laboratory glassware.

2. Safety Precautions

  • Always insert conical flasks uniformly on the platform to prevent excessive vibration and mechanical wear.
  • Never insert conical flasks or tubes with more than 50% of their maximum capacity to prevent liquid from splashing onto the platform

3. Pre-Operational Checklist

  • Inspect the shaker platform and ensure it is clean, dry, and free from residual debris or chemical crusts.

4. Parameters Setting & Operation Procedure

  1. Turn ON the main power switch located at the backside of the unit. The LCD display will illuminate. Wait approximately 1 minute for equipment warm-up.
  2. Insert the conical flasks in the lotus clamps provided into their designated clamps.
  3. Set RPM (Speed): Press the rotating knob and adjust RPM by rotating the knob (clockwise to increase, anticlockwise to decrease).
  4. Set Time (Hours & Minutes): Press the knob, feed min. and hr. by rotating the knob (clockwise for increasing and ant-clockwise for decreasing time). Press the knob again to complete the program.
  5. Start / Run: Long press the knob for 5 seconds. The timer will start and the motor will gradually accelerate to the target RPM.

5. Shutdown & Sample Removal

  • There will be an audio-visual indication at the completion of process. Then turn off the main power. Carefully remove the conical flask from their clamps.
