ICAR-CRIDA has conducted Millet Awareness Campaign under Farmer FIRST Project at Medikonda village of Pudur Mandal, Vikarabad District, Telangana on 11 August, 2023. In the beginning, Dr. G. Nirmala, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension) & PI, FFP briefed about the FFP interventions in the village. After that, an awareness was created among the women farmers by highlighting the importance of millets and nutritional value by Dr. G. Nirmala and students from community science Ms. Akhila and Ms. Sameeksha from PJTSAU. Later, samples of millet products were distributed to the farm women. Besides these, other millets products from Millet Processing & Incubation Centre (MPIC) were explained and displayed for sale. After the campaign, demonstration on foliar application of nano-urea was also carried out in few of the farmers’ field. Sarpanch of the village, Mr. Anantha Reddy also attended the programme. The programme was organized by Dr. G. Nirmala, Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension) & PI, FFP and Dr. C. N. Anshida Beevi, Scientist (Agril. Extension) & Co-PI, FFP.
